It has great adaptability and can be made into thin sheets, rods or wires or even moulded into any complex shape required, but it is difficult to polarize and its performance is subject to various processes.
(1) The reason why the polarization of 0-3 type piezoelectric composites is difficult is that the polarization electric field intensity on the piezoelectric filling phase is far less than that on the applied polarization electric field intensity. In order to improve the polarization property, the conductive phase, such as a small amount of carbon, germanium and other substances, can be added into the composite material to improve the conductivity of the polymer matrix. In addition, measures can also be taken to improve the phase resistivity of piezoelectric ceramics.
(2) An important parameter to be considered in selecting piezoelectric phase is the aspect ratio c/ A of the material. Large c/ A piezoelectric phase yields large spontaneous strain. The filling phase systems used include PZT, PbTiO2, (Pb, Bi)(Ti, Fe) O3, etc.
(3) The material properties are also closely related to the preparation method of the composite. The high purity and uniform composite prepared by chemical method has a significant effect on improving the properties.
